The old question that fans argue about for years now: Did Nancy really pull Freddy into the real world or was this still part of her dream? I think the former is the case and I wrote a detailed essay about it: “Theories about the ending of “A Nightmare on Elm Street””.
And again we have to wonder about Nancy’s behavior: We already had her demand to get her mother and friends back. I dealt with that topic in episode 3. But after she supposedly defeats Freddy, does she really consider it realistic to wake up and instantly stand in front of the house, completely dressed and styled? Shouldn’t she have realized that this is still a dream? By the way, that’s another reason why I prefer the current ending over Wes Craven’s originally intended one (as I said in the comment to episode 1): In the current version, Nancy is fooled, o.k. But in Wes Craven’s version, the last scene would have been the actual real world. And that’s just completely illogical.
