Sprite Comics – Season 5

Episode 7: Crossover

Comic

The longest comic ever. By far.
Usually, whenever I make a pop culture reference that is not about videogames, I don’t call it by name and the reader has to find out for himself what it’s about. But this time, I fear that, unfortunately, the show is too unpopular (No offense. I absolutely love it, but I’ve seen so many people giving it a negative review. Sadly.), so I will tell you: The woman in the introduction scene is Olivia Lee from the hidden camera show “Dirty Sexy Funny”, dressed as her Miss Single role:

The big Pac-Man sprite is from the two player mode of the Game Boy game. The original version has the one with the long nose and the Game Boy Color game “Pac-Man Special Color Edition” (which contains “Pac-Man” and “Pac-Panic”) has the one with the small nose. And so, I got the idea to use these images as Pac-Man and Puck-Man. (More about Pac-Man and Puck-Man in episode 1–1.) Although I had to edit the shoes on both sprites since they were identical, but neither clearly resembled Pac-Man’s boots nor Puck-Man’s sneakers.
For the Hyrule section, I edited the actual screen to some kind of sideview so it fits better with the Pac-Man sprite since the Pac-Man sprite is bigger than 16 x 16 pixels.
The Link vs. Red Bomberman part references the multiple lives thing that was first mentioned in episode 3–6 again.
The gray space hunter is the same one as in episode 4–4.
